  • So now, parents in HK, weddings out of the way, bring on the CAMP!

The one other thing good about the Conference last week was that, it gave part of my brain a break.  I felt like half my brain had a holiday because the “non-working” side was doing work all the time 8am-10pm every day, while the normal working side of my brain had a holiday and could not think too much, but text.

Also revisiting a long-lost ambition and conviction.  Something that needs to be taken on slowly.  God has opened a door which I am hoping to visit on Friday morning.

    My soul sings.

  • The miracle

Attended a 4-day intensive cancer conference in the past few days but my knowledge of cancer is (still) a sheet of thin ice (about to melt away..).
While searching for something online, read an article online and these few lines came up, food for thought.  What a great introduction to cell biology.

“The wondrous co-existence of cells and tissues of multiple types that make up the eye, the finger, or the kidney, for example, each with appropriate anatomic location, all connections intact to fulfil their appointed tasks, is part of the miracle we call life. The explanation for this marvellous organisation is the field of continuing exploration seeking the messages and exquisite controls that exist in multi-cellular organisms. Some believe the ultimate explanations will be discovered not in science, but in the field of religion.”

So people, stop trying to use science to explain the mysteries of life.  Just accept the God of Creation.

    Thanking the miracle Maker.

  • Madness with air miles

My CX flight in July was too cheap that they do not accept it for claiming Asiamiles.
But BA decides they are able to give me some reduced miles.
The BA flight in August, on the other hand, was eligible for Asiamiles, it seems.

Looks like BA is more generous than CX.
  • Hillsong at the O2

So it was last Sunday.   Hillsong London's 10th Anniversary celebration.

At the O2, a Sunday service?  What a dream come true for many.

Everything on stage reminded me that it was a Hillsong, and it's a rock concert. Oh, that Australian accent.

10000 pairs of feet jumping up and down to the tune of "Dancing Generation", with Matt Redman's video on the screen!  How clever is that even though he cannot physically make it!  Same key playing on stage...
    That's the 2nd best thing I remember.

What a rare treat - Delirious singing a few songs.  Thank God, just as their final farewell concert is completely sold out in London.

    My soul is still singing.

10000 people singing Majesty together at the O2, a great resounding voice around the arena! Especially that signature a capella moment Martin Smith likes to do.

Now that's the best thing I will remember.

And I thank God for His tender reminder.

  • Toronto

After much anticipation and having travelled a few times before I had some rest, I found myself in Toronto.

So after Glasgow, it was Birmingham 1 day, HK 1 week, Toronto 10 days.

A place I haven't been for, as relatives told me, more than 20 years. Indeed, the last time I set foot in Canada was around 15 years ago with HKCC.

Living here without a car is impossible. There is a shopping mall every 2 blocks. There is a Chinese-named shop every other shop space. Any shop that isn't in downtown is called an "outlet".

However, in a place with so many "outlets", I still struggled to find something to fill my suitcase. I've bought a cap so far.

Oh, and not to forget, Lilo is such a lovely and friendly dog I am not "so" afraid of petting or playing with her.

An interesting holiday. I don't know what I am going to do in the next 6 days though.

  • Evening Glasgow!

After much waiting the flight finally arrived.

From T5 Concourse A gate 9 -> plane had 2 toilets blocked = cannot be flown legally -> 1.5 hour wait in cabin -> back to terminal -> walked to Concourse A gate 4b -> waited for connecting coach -> arrived at unfinished Concourse C = construction site with parked planes -> another 0.5 hour wait in cabin -> finally took off -> flight arrived, got Airbus 747 timetable -> got luggage at 2225 -> noticed the last bus leaves at 2230 -> ran out to bus station and hopped onto the bus -> arrived for my much needed sleep!

    Early morning coming ahead.

    Thank God, and good night!

  • When does a place become a part of you?

Saw a rather beautiful advert on TV and made me think a bit.
The narrator asked a few questions accompanied by some pretty landscape pictures.

When does a place become a part of you?
    - when its history echoes down to you throughout the ages?
    - when it offers sanctuary from a restless world?
    - when its wilderness speaks -- and you understand?

I especially love the last question.

I love how articulate the English language can sometimes be.
There are just some expressions that you can only do in certain languages.
